Sudden Death - National Guidelines

December 10, 2019

Back in 2004, SADS UK were instrumental in bringing about an extension to the Department of Health National Service Framework for coronary heart disease, to assist in the well-being of those affected by cardiac arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death.

Along with SADS International, we compiled The Warning Signs, which prompt people at risk of sudden death to seek medical advice. Likewise, alongside the Department of Health and other stakeholders, we wrote Chapter 8: Arrhythmias and Sudden Cardiac Death, which was published in 2005.

These guidelines help save lives and include important pathways, such as targeted heart screening by a heart rhythm specialist if there has been a young sudden death. We distribute the Warning Signs widely in our community.
