Defibrillator donated in memory of Clare Yates

July 7, 2022

Mark said "I am grateful to Buttercups Tea Room and Smallville Role Play Village for giving me the opportunity to donate a community defibrillator and training for their premises, in loving memory of my wife Clare Yates. This could provide accessible life-saving support for both adults and children, should they suffer a cardiac arrest. I am also grateful to SADS UK for the support they have given me in providing this vital equipment and training and am pleased to support them in their lifesaving work."

Anne Jolly MBE, Founder of SADS UK, said "SADS UK is extremely grateful to Mark Yates for supporting the charity. We are pleased that Buttercups Tea Room will now benefit from having a defibrillator on its premises to restart the heart if there is a cardiac arrest on the premises. SADS UK works to put defibrillators in the community as using CPR alone provides a 5% chance of survival but early use of the defibrillator as well increases the chance of survival to over 50%."

Buttercups Tea Room was delighted to accept Mark’s generous defibrillator donation as they understand how important this lifesaving equipment is. Defibrillator training for employees of the Tearoom took place on the 16th June 2022.
