Stride with SADS UK in Hyde Park, London to raise awareness and funds to STOP SADS on Sunday May 9th 2021. Find out more here
The premature death of a healthy person is incomprehensible and devastating. SADS UK is able put you in contact with other charity members (by mutual consent) who have also experienced a sudden and unexpected bereavement of a loved one. BACP qualified bereavement counsellors can also be arranged to support people struggling with their grief.
SADS UK holds an annual Retreat to help provide comfort to the bereaved. Every year at the Retreat balloons are released with heartfelt messages, light candles in memory of our loved ones and have a short memorial address. The itinerary includes walking, time to relax and time to speak with other members who have experienced the sudden death of a loved one. The Retreat is subsidised by the charity as we understand how important support is for family and friends who have been affected by a SADS death. Please contact SADS UK if you’d like to receive information about the next Bereavement Retreat.
If individuals wish us to, SADS UK is able to organise counselling sessions with BACP qualified counsellors in their areas. The first six sessions are funded by the charity.
