Holywell Mum's Memory Lives on Through Community Defibrillator placed by SADS UK
SADS UK are pleased that Toe2Toe Fitness will now benefit from having a defibrillator to restart the heart if there is a cardiac arrest on the premises. Using CPR alone provides a 5% chance of survival but early use of the defibrillator as well increases the chance of survival to over 50%; this is why SADS UK is so passionate about putting this lifesaving equipment in the community.
Helen said "Our lovely daughter and Jordanne’s mum Laura, passed away on the 25th July 2019 from SADS aged 38 years. As our local gym Toe2Toefitness is community based and holds various types of fitness classes for all ages, we felt that it would be an ideal place for a defibrillator. We know our daughter Laura would have been the first to help others, so placing the defibrillator in her home town of Holywell and knowing that it will be available for the community to help save lives, meant that Toe2Toefitness is the ideal setting to donate a defibrillator to in memory of our Laura. We as a family would like to thanks SADS UK for their work by supporting families and providing information and raising awareness of SADS and helping to save lives. It is our intention to continue working alongside SADS UK, and to host a yearly celebration to commemorate Laura’s life while educating others about the condition."
