SADS UK supports the letter sent by Dr Zafar Iqbal to Boris Johnson ahead of the second reading of the defibrillator bill on the 10th September.

The SADS UK Big Shock Campaign urging Government to make defibrillators available in all schools reached around 25 million people and the SADS UK petition taken to No. 10 Downing Street had enormous impact. The subsequent advice to schools was that a defibrillator would be a lifesaving addition to the schools first aid kit. It is good to have football players such as Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson supporting defibrillators in schools and sports clubs, as well as eminent cardiologists Professor Sanjay Sharma and Dr Jan Till. SADS UK continues to urge Government to legislate to make defibrillators compulsory.
