SADS UK Safe Schools Campaign
SADS UK understands how going back to school can provoke anxiety and the campaign focuses on Care Plans, why they’re helpful and how to talk to your school about SADS conditions. Care plans are the basis for an individualised health care plan for all children with a SADS condition and help to keep them safe in school.
The aim of the Campaign is for parents, children and school staff to have peace of mind and create normality in schools allowing a child to develop coping skills hand in hand with school staff and reduce anxiety about their condition for everyone. SADS UK has information and resources available for parents, children, school nurses and teachers that will help to provide the best care for children with SADS conditions and safeguard their needs whilst in school.

In 2009 SADS UK provided statistics of 270 cardiac arrests in UK schools each year.
Guidance from the Dept. of Education includes issues for schools consideration
A defibrillator is a machine used to give an electric shock to restart a patient's heart when they are in cardiac arrest.
Government should legislate to make defibrillators compulsory in all schools.
All schools should have sufficient defibrillators in prominent positions such that any person suffering a cardiac arrest can be reached within 3 minutes from the defibrillator location.
