The SADS UK Heart to Heart Conference supported by the British Heart Foundation is being held at the Royal College of Pathologists in London on Saturday 20th October 2012.

Sudden Arrhythmic Death is caused by a range of cardiac conditions which can also affect children and young people. The Heart to Heart Conference provides important information to help save lives.The Conference discusses Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) and inherited cardiac conditions, detection, management and emergency care. Professor Dhavendra Kumar Consultant Clinical Geneticist, University Hospital of Wales will speak about genetic research committed to enhance understanding of familial heart conditions.

The Conference discusses Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) and inherited cardiac conditions, detection, management and emergency care.  Professor Dhavendra Kumar Consultant Clinical Geneticist, University Hospital of Wales will speak about genetic research committed to enhance understanding of familial heart conditions. Professor Peter Taggart, Principal Research Associate, the Hatter Institute, University College of London will discuss research on what is happening in the brain when stress causes heart rhythm problems and how this may affect treatments in the future. Dr Stephen Page, Consultant Cardiologist and Arrhythmia Research Nurse Claire Kirkby, at St Bartholomews Hospital will talk about their work in the Inherited Cardiac Clinic.

Defibrillators and training in youth establishments and workplaces will be discussed by SADS UK, the London Ambulance Service, the Community Heartbeat Trust and Air Training Corps, Squadron Leader.
